I am an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Music Education in the Kitt School of Music at Northern Arizona University. My research and teaching critically explore the philosophies, histories, and practices of music education in order to foster more responsive forms of thought and teaching. 

Previously, I taught K–8 general music in Tolleson, Arizona, and was involved in teacher organizing and educational justice movements. I earned my Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
