Noah Karvelis is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction. Previously, he was a K-8 music teacher in Phoenix, Arizona where he was involved in several education activism and reform efforts, including co-founding the organization Arizona Educators United which led the Arizona RedForEd movement and teacher strike.

Noah's research builds upon these experiences by analyzing education reform efforts. This work examines how taken-for-granted reforms construct difference, exclusions, and governance in schools under the guise of equity.
